The other distance learning institutes that have been ranked among top 10 are Sikkim Manipal University (SMU), Gangtok in the third position, IMT Distance and Open Learning Institute, Ghaziabad as fourth and Symbiosis Centre for MBA Distance Learning, Pune as number eight.

In the parameter of Research and Resources, IGNOU was positioned as number one. Sikkim Manipal University has been ranked six, IMT as number 13 and Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning as number 20.

In the category of Learning and Experience, IMT has been ranked first. It is followed by SMU in the second position. IGNOU and Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning have been ranked as fourth and sixth respectively.

In the Results and Efficiency parameter, SMU is the top ranking institute. IMT ranks fourth in this category. Symbiosis ranks eighth and IGNOU is on the 15th position.
