What is the best university in the UK Classified? How universities? There is no official government ranking of universities in the UK. However, there are some newspaper rankings published annually by The Times newspaper, the telegraph, the Student Guide from the BBC, The Independent University Guide and The Guardian.
Oxford is ranked as the No. 1 University of The Independent and The Guardian, outperformed Cambridge in 2008. Oxford leads the ranking The Guardian, followed by Cambridge, London School of Economics, Warwick, St Andrews, Imperial, University College London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) and Edinburgh.
There are several guides in British universities who hold all the universities in order of merit, but based on different criteria. Guardian focuses on the quality of teaching and what students think. The Independent Guide to Good University (now The Complete Guide to the University) uses nine measures of quality – student satisfaction, research assessment, entry requirements, the number of students / staff, library / computer spending, facilities spending, degree classifications, graduate prospects and completion rates. All universities are assessed in these nine quality factors. This guide is a prestigious university, students often refer to league tables when choosing a university. There are 59 tables that occupy the academic subjects in the subjects /> However, a highly ranked university in time may appear in the wrong position in the guidelines from other universities, such as the Sunday Times and The Guardian. In 2008, there are large differences in ranking positions between the two famous college guides (The Guardian and The Independent), as follows:
(1) of the University of Dundee is ranked 17 in the Guardian (A Top 20 University), but ranks 52 in The Independent, even in the Top 50!
(2) University of Bristol is ranked 31 in The Guardian (outside Top30), but it is highly rated by independent at the age of 16.
(3) Anglia Ruskin University is ranked 109 in The Independent, but in a higher position in the table 71 of the Guardians of the league.
(4) Thames Valley University is ranked 85 in the Guardian, and 110 in The Independent.
(5) of the University of Durham is doing very well in The Independent, ranked sixth position, but it is ranked 16 in The Guardian (outside Top 15).
(6) University of Abertay Dundee is ranked 68 in The Independent, but is out of the Top 100 in the Guardian, 105.
Grading Guide is the best? It really depends on a number of factors.
